Senator Larry Craig of bathroom cruising fame is resigning, effective Sept. 30. "I am not gay!" Hmmmmm, methink thou dost protest too much, Mr. Craig. Not the first time you've done this, just the first time you've been arrested for it. Plead guilty to a lesser charge and thought you could cover it up, huh? Gay bashers shouldn't throw rocks in glass houses.

And Tony Snow, White House press secretary, is also leaving. He sees he needs to make more money. I guess he didn't get any of Halliburton's stock when he signed on.

Looks like the rats are leaving a sinking ship....

Poor Baby

So Paris Hilton served THREE DAYS of her 21 day sentence in jail (which was originally 40 days). Poor thing was stressed out by the jail experience and had a "psychological" situation. They put an ankle bracelet on her and sent her home for house arrest.

Do you know anyone else who gets a second DUI at the age of 25, driving under a suspended license, who was let her out of jail early because it was too much for them????? Excuuuuuse me.

And they say rich people get treated the same as everyone else by the judicial system?

Yeah right.

In Memorium

I learned this morning that Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (Dem-CA) died late Saturday evening. She had been representative for many years, first in the state assembly and then, for the last 11 years, in the House of Representatives.

I would like to take a moment to honor her memory, and her untiring work on behalf of the people of California and of the United States. Her departure leaves a great void. May her family, friends and staff find peace in this difficult time.
